Distant Dominion have been gestating in the dead but dreaming womb of the Philadelphia area metal scene for decades like an unwritten prophecy carried in from the acrid winds risen off the cross-tides of the Schuylkill and Delaware rivers. A perfect storm of technical precision, powerful and complementary songwriting, and more than a collective century of experience. Not only the quintessential metal band of celebrated genre veterans from the area, they are the amalgamation of still-standing shrines to the great old ones who have summoned a sonic assault far greater than the sum of its parts.
Influencers of influences, the members of Distant Dominion have spent countless nights in the forge honing their craft in bands like Krieg, Rumplelstiltskin Grinder, Polterchrist, and Mortal Decay to grind every spark of alchemical dissonance. While not wasting a drop of melodic sludge, they harness virtuosic composure into a relentless golem of brutality.
Distant Dominion was formed during quarantine voids of the COVID-19 pandemic by Ryan Moll, Brian Deal, and Frank Esposito, followed soon after by the additions of Joe Gordon and Shawn Riley. Soon after recording for their debut full-length, Frank stepped down and left his prodigious compositions in the skilled hands of Steven Dever.
Their debut full-length album RIPPING THROUGH TIME will be unleashed upon the globe September 27th, 2024 through German record label
Fetzner Death Records on CD and Digital Streaming Formats. First show of the CD release announced Oct. 20th with Single Bullet Theory, IKILLYA, and Eyes of the Living at BAR XIII in Wilmington, DE along with several other minor and major rituals throughout the remaining days of 2024 TBA!
