Luxembourg ́s melodic black/death metal band ÆoniK secured victory in the final of the Wacken Metal Battle 2024 in Luxembourg, earning themselves a spot at the Wacken Open Air Festival 2024.
ÆoniK – Band Biography
Origin & Members
ÆoniK is a black/death metal band from Luxembourg, founded in 2023. The current lineup consists of Änder Millim, Jeff Buchette, Marc Geiben, Raphael Gambuto, and new bassist Tim Wilson.
Musical style
ÆoniK combines atmospheric and melodic elements with raw, epic energy. The band creates intense soundscapes in which the aggression of death metal meets the darkness of black metal – uncompromising, dynamic, and instantly recognizable.
Releases
With the EP Aeonian Lights (2024) and the single Eternal Descent (2024), ÆoniK laid the foundation for their first concept album, The Roamer of Heaven and Hell, which will be released on April 30, 2026. The album will be released via Death Fetzner Records. The band handled the production of the album entirely on their own – from mixing to Mastering.
Visually, everything remains in their own hands as well: the cover is based on a motif from an earlier photo shoot and was further developed to authentically capture the atmosphere of the album. ÆoniK consciously pursues the approach of doing as much as possible themselves so that the music and aesthetics remain unadulterated.
The release concert will take place on May 9, 2026, at the Rockhal. There, ÆoniK will perform as the closing act of the Wacken Metal Battle 2026 and present the album live for the first time. In 2024, the band won the Luxembourg edition of the competition, securing an important milestone in their still young history.
Live experience
Despite their short band history, ÆoniK has already performed on renowned stages, including Wacken Open Air. Further performances have taken the band to international festivals such as the Field Invasion Festival and events in Luxembourg such as Rotten Stones and Pétange is Metal. Plans for 2026 include Hell Open Air in Diest (Belgium) and the release concert at the Rockhal.
The Concept
The Roamer of Heaven and Hell tells the story of a mysterious protagonist whose identity remains in the dark. The “Roamer” moves between dimensions and times – a motif that runs through both the music and the visuals. The band logo, a triangle with a vortex, symbolizes this gateway between worlds and is a recurring element in the artwork and staging.
