Formed in 1992, Scaffold took in the hell-like circumstances they were living in and turned them into death metal gems that will forever be remembered in the extreme metal scene of Serbia. Sadly, those circumstances could not be fought with anymore, and the band goes on hiatus in 1996. But, the beast doesn't sleep forever... The hunger for extreme music awakens the band again in 2008, and after a long live-gig campaign, EP, and a maxi-single, it's time to show everybody what's been brewing in the minds of these deathrash veterans.
"Codex Gigas" represents all the gathered experience, hard work, and drive of Scaffold. Finally armed with a new, strong line-up, the band starts a new chapter in its history and invites you into dark corners of the human mind. SCAFFOLD is going back to the source and the best years of extreme music, where honesty, integrity, and musical ability were the most appreciated assets a band can have. 90s style death-thrash metal, with chugging riffs, interspersed with beautiful melodic passages that don't take anything away from the extremity of it all, powerful drums, driving bass, and haunting vocals, reminiscent of older-era Death will satisfy the purists among you, as well as the new fans who are just getting into death/thrash metal. With beautifully creepy artwork done by Ardha Lepa, "Codex Gigas", like its namesake, will astound you if you give it a chance. If you're a fan of mighty DEATH, KREATOR, and PESTILENCE, this is the album you've been waiting to hear!
Line-up:
Ivica Dujić - vocals, guitars
Aleksandar Musicki - drums
Antonio Ismailović - guitars
Milan Dobrosavljević – bass
