Hailing from Sicily (Italy) Morticula Rex is a Evil-Death/Doom band born in 2018 by the sick mind of Alessandro Wehrmacht (member of Daemonokrat and Religio Mortis) and influenced by bands such as Black Sabbath, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Carnivore, Mercyful Fate, Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, Nasty Savage, Mayhem, At The Gates, Necrophagia, Dark Throne, Candlemass and the whole old school Death/Doom Metal scene.
The first full-lenght called "Grotesque Glory" was composed, arranged and recorded in a couple of weeks at Disharmony Studios entirely by A.Wehrmacht during November 2018. In the first few weeks of 2019 he were approached by Juro Harìn, boss of Immortal Souls Production to make a co-release of Grotesque Glory. Two months later Pavor Nocturnus (Hell Hunter, Eternal Suffering, 9th Gate) joins the band and toghether they start drafting of new stuff. In summer/fall 2020 they record a new album called "Autumnal Rites". in December of the same year they signed a deal with Aleksey Korolyov of Satanath Records to release the album.
