MONASTERY DEAD from Saint Petersburg was founded in 2004 by bassist Vadim Nikolaev. From the very beginning of its existence, the gang has been working in the death metal genre, having so far released three full-length albums, several singles and two music videos. The project has a rich concert history, in which there were joint performances with such masters of the genre as Haemorrhage, Dying Fetus, Fleshless, Amagortis, Debauchery, Impaled Nazarene, Benighted, Unleashed and others.
Monastery Dead's fourth long-play, "Ego Sum Dolor", will be the result of painstaking work that lasted four years, during which the material repeatedly underwent changes and acquired new meanings. The basis of the concept of the release is the idea that the real hell is our current existence on Earth. This is a story about a man doomed to experience all the suffering and torment destined for him in his life, here and now. He bears the burden of merciless retribution, which, like stigmata, he acquired by birthright, experiences pain and inflicts pain, is obsessed with destruction and destroys himself.
