KRÄTZE Recordings in collaboration with Fetzner Death Records from Karlsruhe, Germany
KRÄTZE is a German band founded in September 2024. Members are multi-instrumentalist/metal pianist ALPHATRAZ and singer/comic artist DAHLI. Their music is a daring mix of black metal, gothic/dark wave, dungeon synth, classical and electronic.
Hard strumming meets dark metal – Christoph Martin regularly releases piano covers of well-known metal songs on his YouTube channel Alphatraz, giving even the hardest black metal compositions a touch of melody, which can also be found in his own compositions. With his project Krätze, founded in September 2024, he dedicates himself, together with the illustrator Thorsten Dahlhaus (called: Dahli), who lends his shadowy voice to the band, to more experimental sounds. From the atmospheric density of Burzum and mercilessly echoing drums ('Absolution') to pop-black metal ballad qualities ('Dämonenhochzeit'), to solemn spoken word romanticism ('Frühlingsgefühle') and Rammstein-esque industrial catchiness ('Opferdolch'), the duo covers an impressive range of different styles, which are seamlessly interwoven. Dungeon Synth bonds meet Eurythmics, the earworm factor of Oomph! the sublimity of early Satyricon and the inaccessibility of dark metal varieties an unerring sense for songs that are guaranteed to stay in your memory. In short: if you want to listen to unorthodox and morbid metal in 2025, which is less characterized by heavy guitars and more by the courage to try something new, you can't get past Krätze!
Recurring collaboration partners are Mania (Alphatraz & Friends), Hans Lazer (Hans Lazer Alien Slam) and Alexander Fetzner (Fetzner Death Records).
