FALAND is a Black/Death/Doom Metal Band from Thalheim, Germany.
Founded in 2020, the band consists members of Norsegod and Seelenschmerz.
Narbenvolk is an ambitious album with which FALAND deliberately straddles the stylistic spectrum between (atmospheric) black, (melodic) death, and doom.
Faland’s debut album, “Narbenvolk”! Emerging from the ashes of the defunct band Seelenschmerz, this quintet from Saxony operates within a broad musical spectrum, somewhere between black, death, doom, and even folk metal—three songs, among others, even shine with the crystal-clear voice of guest vocalist Cruinh von Rimmersgard—a framework in which only originality, authenticity, and above all a great deal of passion serve as the driving forces, keeping the wheel of creativity constantly turning. The music on this debut album can therefore be described as dark, epic, and very powerful.
Incidentally, the name Faland comes from Old High German and was once a term for the devil or a devil-like creature, such as a dragon. Quite fitting for the band, since their lyrics describe precisely this: the devil that slumbers within each and every one of us, weaves the threads in fairy tales, and always plays out his very own story...
