Welcome to the world of Deviltook. In the summer of 2025, Base Record Production released the third album by the black metal band Deviltook, entitled “The Decrepitude of the Redemption Process”.
I am firmly convinced that this is the band’s best work to date. They have added an extra touch of drama to their sound, and it works perfectly. However, I must admit that I felt the album got off to a very good start, but lost a bit of momentum halfway through. Nevertheless, I guarantee you’ll be more than satisfied overall.
The guitar work is both wild and melancholic. You can expect dissonant, powerful and thoroughly nihilistic riffs based on tremolo picking and double harmonies.
Vocally, as you’d expect, the screams dominate. Nevertheless, ice-cold clean vocals occasionally break through. The drumming is dynamic. With a perfect balance between speed and power, the band ensures that the listener never loses interest. I particularly like the opening tracks “Desperate Souls” and “Denial Of Creation” for their musicality. Nor can I overlook the frenzied “I Laugh In Your Fucking Face”.
“The Decrepitude Of The Redemption Process” is, in many respects, a step forward in Deviltook’s career and will undoubtedly delight fans of black metal.
